I was searching for a way to make this without all the stirring and stirring so that I could have whole popcorn pieces instead of crumbs. This is what I came up with.
1/2 C. unpopped Popcorn
5 Tbs. Butter, softened
5 Tbs. Powdered Sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
Pop corn in air popper and separate onto 2 cookie sheets covered with wax paper. Spread the popcorn out on each cookie sheet, removing any kernels.
In a microwave safe bowl, combine Sugar, softened Butter and Salt. Mush all together until it is a frosting-like consistency. Melt in the microwave for 30 seconds (don't let it overflow when it boils!). Pour mixture over popcorn. Taste and sprinkle with salt if desired.
Let mixture cool, or eat while it is gooey!
