Granola


Basic Ingredients:
2 C. Oats
1/4 C. Honey
1/2 C. Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 Tbsp. Almond and/or Vanilla extract

Mix together with hands until there is an even coat.

Optional Ingredients:
Coconut
Sunflower seeds
Nuts
more Cinnamon

Cooking Directions:
Broil or bake at high temperature on a cookie sheet for 3-4 minutes. Check often and stir each time until granola is golden and hard. Enjoy with yogurt and fruit!

okay, I've made this a few times. I usually cook it a total of 10 minutes at 400 degrees, stirring once or twice in between. I sometimes add 1/2 peanut butter before cooking for a yummy peanuty taste. I always add nuts before cooking as well. And coconut. Then, when I take it out of the oven, I mix in raisins or craisins and then press it into an 8 X 8 greased pan and let cool, then cut it into bars. It makes great granola bars. I omit the maple flavoring as well. Don't add dried fruit until it is done baking. But I do add tons of nuts and fruits. The fruits really sweeten it up. You could also double the honey or increase the brown sugar to sweeten it so your kids eat it.
